This is such a fun program! You can bring in your own fabrics, you can make virtual quilts if you don't want to quilt. I have designed quilts on it too! It is very easy to work with!

I wanted to try something different with my quilting. Designing was becoming a challenge. I ended up throwing away a lot of cut up blocks that didn't work. I found the program very easy to understand and my boyfriend (a non-quilter) is playing with it more than I am. He has designed over 300 quilts. We especially like the part where you scan your own fabric and use it with the projects. Now I know if I have enough fabric before I sew. I wish could stay off the pc and start sewing again.

I can't imagine quilting without my EQ5! The software is very user friendly, the instructions books easy to understand. Can you imagine learning to draw your own block patterns? With EQ5 anyone can!!! It's so easy to use my grandson started designing in EQ when he was 4 years old!! I am making quilts that I would never have dreamed possible before Electric Quilt. I highly recommend Electric Quilt!!!

"See your quilt before you build it."
I'm terrible at combining colors or patterns with quilts. I get a quilt half put together and I don't like it. This program lets you see your quilt before you build it. You'll know if your colors don't look good together or if the patterns you've picked out are too busy together. Not to mention the rotary cutting guide and yardage printouts!! I've just begun to play with this program but I know it will improve my quilt making alot.
